Premier Division

1874 Northwich vs Atherton Collieries – Saturday 3pm

5th place 1874 Northwich face top of the table Atherton Collieries on Saturday afternoon with Atherton looking to extend their lead at the top of the premier division.

Currently, Atherton have a five point lead at the top with a game in hand over second placed Runcorn Linnets who face Maine Road at the same time.

Atherton have been in great from over the past six games, winning five out of six with the one solitary loss coming at home to their promotion rivals Runcorn Linnets.

Michael Clegg’s side have won their last three games 2-1 which shows the resilience in defence and the clinical edge in attack which is needed so late in the season as wins is all that matters for Atherton.

Northwich meanwhile comfortably in 5th place with a 11 point advantage over 6th placed Padiham, whilst being 15 points behind the sole promotion spot that is held by their opponents.

Promotion is highly unlikely for Northwich this season but managers, Paul Bowyer & Wayne Goodison will look to finish as high as they can this season.

Northwich’s form recently has been inconsistent with three wins in their last six games, accompanied with two draws and a loss. Northwich could be accused of preparing for next season but the managers will look to put that theory to bed with a win on Saturday.

When the two sides met in February, Atherton came out 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Ben Hardcastle in the 24th minute.

Northwich will be looking to rectify that defeat and perhaps add some extra pressure onto the Atherton as the season draws to a close,

Remember, this match takes place this Saturday 3pm at the St Luke’s Barton Stadium.

First Division:

Litherland REMYCA vs Alsager Town – Saturday 3pm

Litherland REMYCA face Alsager Town in a crucial match at Litherland Sports Park.

REMYCA have the chance to move into a promotion spot with a win and if results go their way as they sit in 5th place three points off top spot and two points off the final promotion spot.

Phil Stafford’s side have won four out of their last six league games but two damaging defeats against leaders Charnock Richard and mid-table Silsden has saw REMYCA slide down to 5th position from leaders.

Alsager, meanwhile, are just slipping away from the final play-off spot. They sit 8th and seven points off Sandbach United.

This slide has coincided with the run of results of the past six games. Alsager have only once once in that time, at home to Holker Old Boys, and are in the mix of a five game losing streak.

These two sides last met back in March, where REMYCA came out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Colin Quirk, Colin McDonald and Alex Ryan.

Note, this match takes place on Saturday at 3pm at Litherland Sports Park.
