Liverpool’s Senegalese forward Sadio Mane made a return to Melwood on Thursday and could be back in the first team fold soon.
Although the trip to West Ham will probably be too soon, the reappearance of Mane will be a joyful sight for Reds supporters.
Injured since his last international appearance for Senegal in October when he picked up a hamstring injury, the winger has only played in five Premier League games for Jurgen Klopp’s side so far.
That’s not all down to injury, however – he missed two games after being sent off against Manchester City for kicking goalkeeper Ederson in the head (let’s not start that debate again).
Since his red card, Klopp’s side have only won two of their six league games without him – including the 3-0 victory over Huddersfield.
With the last two games proving challenging in terms of breaking down an organised, compact back four, a resurgent Sadio Mane could prove to be the key for Klopp’s side to unlock the door.
