According to Sky Sources in Italy, Chelsea have agreed a deal worth £33.4m with Roma for the services of German defender Antonio Rudiger. The defender is scheduled to have a medical on Monday as he looks to join the Premier League champions.
The deal for Rudiger looks to be at £29m up front with a further £4.4m in add-ons, this deal seems to be agreed by the two clubs. The defender will also be signing a five year deal.
Sky Sources reported that a deal for Rudiger began on Friday and now it seems those talks have advanced somewhat. Rudiger who joined Roma for £7.6m from Stuttgart has impressed in his first two seasons in Serie A.
Antonio Conte is looking to Antonio Rudiger to be a replacement for departing captain John Terry as well as looking for cover for Nathan Ake who recently departed for AFC Bournemouth.
Chelsea have been linked with Southampton defender Virgin Van Dijk as well being urged to make a bid for Rudiger’s team-mate Kostas Manolas, after his move to Zenit St. Petersburg fell through
Antonio Rudiger has 16 caps for Germany and made 72 appearances for Roma across two successful seasons in Italy
