Current Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy is set for a return to France only a year after joining the Foxes in the hopes of replacing outgoing midfielder N’Golo Kante.
Recent reports are suggesting that Mendy is very keen on a move to Bordeaux and after joining Leicester last year from Nice for £13m on a four-year deal. His debut season was blighted by injury however as the midfielder only made nine appearances for the former Premier League champions.
Former Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri who is now in charge of French side Nantes signed Mendy last summer and is reportedly keen on the player but Mendy has his heart set on Bordeaux.
Speaking with French media outlet Le’Equipe “”I heard about the interest of Nantes but neither me nor my adviser have been contacted,”
“Anyway, since my adviser talked to me about the possibility of joining Bordeaux, I’m set on it (Credit: Sky Sports)
