According to Sky Sources Riyad Mahrez has submitted a transfer request indicating that he wants to leave Leicester City.
One can only speculate that Mahrez would like to leave for European football and since Leicester did not achieve that this season the Algerian may feel his time is up at the foxes.
Mahrez was at the centre of transfer speculation last summer as rumour has it, that Arsenal were very much interested in the services of the Algerian.
Riyad Mahrez was instrumental in Leicester’s title winning campaign in 2015/16 contributing 17 goals in 37 appearances, picking up the PFA Player of the year in the process.
Last season however, his form had dipped as had Leicester’s and he was unable to reach the same heights as the season before. Mahrez though is still a very talented player and who knows he could be a great asset for a team near the top.
Early reports suggest that Arsenal may renew their interest from last season, however Monaco may see him as an ideal for Bernardo Silva who joined Manchester City for £43m
