Litherland REMYCA are now advertising for a new manager to take the reigns.
Stafford, who joined the club over two years ago, lead the club to a third place finish and the NWCFL Playoff Final this season.
Don Rimmer, REMYCA chairman, said, “This is a huge disappointment to all at the club as Phil is a young talented manager who is popular and well respected.
“He has delivered our most successful season to date in non league despite missing out in the play off final”.
Rimmer added, “However, change does happen particularly in football and we would like to place on record our appreciation for Phil’s contribution to the development of this club.
“We wish him well in his future endeavours”.
