Premier League Darts: Week 9 Preview

Premier League Darts emanates from the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff this week as Jelle Klassen and Kim Huybrechts bid goodbye to their respective campaigns after being relegated last week in Manchester.

Elsewhere MVG aims to bounce back from his losing his unbeaten record on TV as he faces Dave Chisnall while 16 times world champ Phil Taylor takes on already eliminated Jelle klassen.

*Kim Huybrechts will miss this week due to family reasons.

Phil Taylor vs Jelle Klassen

Already eliminated Klassen, who is due to have surgery to cure tendonitis is playing for pride as he aims to get a boost of momentum ahead of a 3 week layoff before he returns to action.

Taylor has play-off ambitions to fight for and he had this to say:” I’ve earned the right to enjoy myself a little bit, but I’m going to keep pushing to get into the top 4”.

Gary Anderson vs Adrian Lewis

Adrian Lewis will be looking to maintain his good form and extend his 3 game winning run to solidify a play-off spot at the O2 in London he said: ive had three wins on the trot and I want to keep that going now.

Gary Anderson also has similar ambitions and he predicts their encounter will be a special encounter:” the games usually get built up but Adrian’s back playing how we know he can”.

Raymond Van Barneveld vs James Wade

RVB looks to continue his four match winning streak to bolster his top four aims and said before the game: ”my form is there and the last two weeks have been great, but my focus is now on James.

Wade meanwhile has dropped off the pace a little as he looks for a strong result to reinvigorate his top 4 hopes.

Michael Van Gerwen vs Dave Chisnall

Van Gerwen unbeaten record was ended last week at the hands of RVB but is still pleased he is at the top of the table playing Dave Chisnall this week he said:” I’m top of the table and that’s where I want to be, but its close between everyone so you can’t afford any mistakes.

Chisnall meanwhile needs several strong results to haul himself into top 4 contention but Van Gerwen believes he shouldn’t be underestimated:” Dave’s a brilliant player and he’s one of the biggest scorers in the game so I know ive got to be on form”.
