LCFA Senior Cup Semi Final Preview

Tuesday night see’s the Liverpool County FA Senior Cup Semi Final’s take place.

B Live Sports Radio will have live commentary and updates from these games to keep you informed of who will make it the final.

Here, we preview the two clashes and give you the lowdown of both ties.

Southport vs. Litherland REMYCA

Phil Stafford’s Litherland REMYCA head into this game as the league leaders of the NWCFL First Division, on a run of 12 wins in 15 games in all competitions.

Southport are in dreadful form, with Andy Preece’s men winning just once in their last twelve.

They will be hoping they can get back-to-back victories with a win on Tuesday night – the first time they will have done so since December.

Phil Stafford says his side are under no pressure to win, but says it may be a good time to face Southport.

Stafford told us, “We have got a good record in the senior cup with this being our second semi final in as many seasons. I’m really looking forward to the game and I know the lads are.

“Southport are struggling in the league and it’s probably the best time to play them”.

“This is a game for us to go and enjoy at a great venue. Southport are struggling in the league and it’s probably the best time to play them.
“We are massive outsiders so we have got nothing to lose. I just hope our lads give a good account of themselves and the club enjoy the night”.
REMYCA knocked current holders Everton out of the cup in March, which was also live on our radio station, so Southport will be wary of the threat they pose.

Bootle vs. Prescot Cables

Joe Doran’s Bootle head into this game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Runcorn Linnets.

But don’t let that fool you – this is a side who’ve won 10 of their last 12 games, including knocking Tranmere Rovers out of this competition on penalties in the last round.

Prescot Cables’ form hasn’t been as good.

Since the turn of the year, the Evo-Stik side have won just four games in twelve, with one of those wins being the 4-0 victory over AFC Liverpool in the last round.

It should be an interesting tie at the Delta Taxis Stadium.
