WWE RAW Recap: 20/03/17

WWE rolled into the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York last night on the road to Wrestlemania 33.

With just two shows left before the “Ultimate Thrill Ride”,  Monday Night RAW worked on advancing their stories.

After Stephanie McMahon asked him to fire somebody, which lead to Mick Foley trying to fire her and clashing with Triple H, this week Foley came out to say he was “taking a leave of absence”.

Reading from index cards, which he eventually ripped up and began to slaughter both Triple H and Steph, his microphone was cut off.

Out came Steph, ferociously berating the Hardcore Legend before telling him straight: “You’re Fired”.

This enraged Sami Zayn to the point where he came out to defend Foley, but ended up being pitted in a match against Samoa Joe, which he lost via submission.

Afterwards, Foley said his goodbye’s to some of the RAW locker room, and was seen off by none other than Triple H.

Chris Jericho hosted his Highlight Reel talk show segment which was with the “real” Kevin Owens.

Jericho showed a picture of Owens in 2000 wearing a Y2J top and posing as a Jericholic.

He also showed direct messages on Twitter that Owens sent to him when he signed for WWE, asking for advice.

As Jericho threatened to put Owens on “The List”, Samoa Joe walked down the ramp.

He distracted the US Champion enough for KO to attack from behind, where he ripped up, chewed and spat out Y2J’s beloved list.

In the advertised match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman, Reigns was preparing to deliver superman punch, when the infamous bell donged.

When the lights returned, there he was standing in the middle of the ring – The Undertaker.

These two men began their feud at the Royal Rumble when Reigns eliminated The Undertaker.

Strowman tried to attack the Phenom from behind, which earned him a chokeslam.

As Taker turned around, Reigns hit him with a spear. The Deadman sat up as Roman walked up the ramp and aimed a throat slash towards him.

For the record, Taker looked less than agile when he turned around to take the spear and I’d be shocked if this Mania wasn’t his last.

Triple H sat down with Michael Cole for an in-ring interview aimed at the feud between The Game and Seth Rollins.

These two have been clashing since Triple H gave Rollins a pedigree to help Kevin Owens win the Universal Championship.

With Rollins’ injured, Triple H took advantage to say he’ll fight him at Wrestlemania on April 2nd only if the Architect signs a contract for unsanctioned match, containing a clause saying he can’t sue for any injuries he suffers.

  • Nia Jax beat Bayley and in doing so won a spot in the RAW Women’s Title match in Orlando next Sunday, making it a Fatal-4 Way.
  • Cesaro and Sheamus beat the team of Gallows and Anderson, Big Cass and Enzo Amore to retain their place in the triple threat match for the RAW Tag Titles at Mania.
  • Charlotte Flair beat Dana Brooke.
  • Brian Kendrick beat TJ Perkins.
  • Austin Aries beat Tony Nese and had a verbal back-and-forth with Cruiserweight Champion Neville afterwards. The two clash for the title at Wrestlemania, which is being hosted by former tag champs The New Day.
