NHL Round Up: 12/03/2017

As the season draws to a close in less than a month, the pressure is rising for the teams aiming for Stanley Cup glory.

Minnesota Wild 2-4 Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks closed the gap on at the pinacle of the Central Division to a single point with a win against top-of-the-table Minnesota Wild.

Patrick Kane put the Blackhawks ahead after just 51 seconds in the game.

Marian Hossa wrapped up the game at 4-2 after a tight third period, following Mikael Granlund’s goal early on made it 3-2.

The games other goals came from Artemi Panarin and Trevor van Riemsyk for the Hawks, and Eric Staal for the Wild.

Washington Capitals 2-4 Los Angeles Kings

NHL league leaders Washington lost to the Kings after a decisive third period on Friday.

A goal apiece in the 1st and 2nd period’s had the game tied up.

Goals from Adrian Kempe and Jeff Carter decided the game in favour of the Kings.

The Capitals stay top of the NHL league despite the defeat, and play the Anaheim Ducks later this evening.
